About

A game I made, along with four other people, as the the lead programmer for the Wowzapp 2012 jam.
It’s a pretty simple point-and-click style sniper game like you’d see in many flash games.
This game was made with Monogame for the then brand new Windows 8 platform.
To play you move the crosshairs around the screen trying to find the counter-sniper before time runs out and they find you. Firing your rifle decreased the time it takes for the enemy to find you and there are many scarecrows and civilians to distract you (We never got around to implementing a fail state for killing civilians so it’s just a time penalty).

A little back-story.
At the time we were used to XNA but it was already being discontinued and the then new Windows 8 platform did not support it at all and Windows 7 really only had legacy support. This caused basically everybody at the jam to lose their cool (this was in the Autumn and everybody was a 2nd or 3rd year so we all had only a year or two of college down).
About 12-18 hours into the jam somebody discovered Monogame, which was an attempt to keep the XNA framework going under the open source community. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief and that was my first introduction to Monogame and Windows 8.
