Description
Casual, cross-platform MOBA on Apple Arcade with licenced Disney characters.
I worked on several aspects of this game such as the First Time User Experience which includes the tutorial level, in which I developed a flexible and rapibly modifiable system to allow the desingers to quickly change the mechanics and flow of the tutorial level to fit their vision, allowing for rapid iteration and ideation without needing engineering input which could act as a bottleneck.
Another aspect of the FTUE feature I worked on was ensuring that the first "real" match is actually against bots and over time slowly introducing real players, favouring the new player's team and preffering other new or inexperienced players. In addition to this effect, various menues will unlock as the player completes a few matches so they do not get overwhelemed with all of the options available.
I also worked on a player retention feature where on the first launch of the game every day they would unlock something new, sometimes a new charcter, sometimes a new skin, sometimes a new ability. This feature would encourage a player to open the game every day by rewarding them with a new unlock that would build up to a big prize at the end of the week.
